What Are Nanocrystalline CMC Toroid Cores?

Nanocrystalline CMC toroidal cores are magnetic cores wound from nanocrystalline alloy ribbons, optimized for use in common mode choke inductors. Their extremely high initial permeability (μr > 80,000) and low core loss characteristics make them highly effective at attenuating common mode noise in wideband frequency ranges (10kHz to 30MHz). Compared to ferrite or powdered cores, nanocrystalline toroids provide better noise suppression in smaller sizes, with stable performance across temperature and load variations.

The magnetic properties of nanocrystalline alloys—such as high permeability, low coercivity, and high saturation flux—allow engineers to design compact chokes with fewer turns, reducing copper loss and winding complexity.
Our CMC toroid cores are widely used in EMI filters for EV onboard chargers (OBC), photovoltaic inverters, UPS systems, and smart grid power controllers. Coating options include epoxy, polyester, or film insulation, with color coding and high dielectric strength upon request.
Each core is tested for permeability, AL value, impedance profile, and insulation resistance. We also support customized magnetic design, gapped versions, and thermal modeling data for precision EMC circuit design.
